Frequently asked questions
What is ReelTemps?
ReelTemps turns satellite data into clean maps of sea-surface temperature (SST) and chlorophyll for the entire U.S. coast, the Great Lakes, and Hawaii — so you can find the temperature breaks, color changes, and structure where fish concentrate before you leave the dock.
Which areas do you cover?
53 regions spanning the U.S. coast, the entire Eastern Seaboard, all of Florida, the Gulf, the Great Lakes, Hawaii, Baja and mainland Mexico, and the Caribbean. You can browse all regions from your dashboard.
How much does it cost?
$99.99 per year — every region and every tool included, on phone and desktop. There's a free interactive demo so you can try everything before subscribing.
How do I cancel?
You can manage or cancel anytime from your account settings; your membership stays active through the end of the year you paid for. Need a hand? Use the form below.
Why is my region cloudy or missing data today?
SST comes from satellites, and clouds block their view of the water. Use the Composite view (it blends several days of passes to fill gaps) or Cloud-Free for a complete picture on overcast days. A clear Single Pass is the sharpest when skies cooperate.
How often is the data updated?
Charts are refreshed throughout the day as new satellite passes come in. Fresh imagery depends on satellite overpass times and cloud cover for your area.
Does it work on my phone?
Yes — the full chart works on phone and desktop, and your favorites, settings, and saved waypoints sync to your account so they follow you across devices.
I have a creator / sponsor invite code.
Open your invite link (reeltemps.com/join?code=YOURCODE), sign up, and your account unlocks automatically — no card needed. If a code won't take, send it to us with the form below.
Is ReelTemps safe for navigation?
No. ReelTemps is a fishing-intelligence tool, not a nautical chart. It is not for navigation and is not a substitute for official charts, GPS, or proper safety equipment. Satellite data can be delayed, cloud-obscured, or differ from what you measure in the water.
Where does the data come from?
Best-in-class satellite data from NOAA and NASA — VIIRS sea-surface temperature and ocean-color via NOAA CoastWatch and NASA PO.DAAC/JPL, buoy observations from NOAA NDBC, and depth from SRTM15+. Real science, made clean and readable.
